Neckpiece #N267

"O'MALLEY'S MEN"

Near the shores of the green isle, pirates plundered well before that POTC golden age.  One of the most famous was Grace O'Malley, who did her worst during the time of Queen Elizabeth I.  It is for this daring pirate we name this piece.

In our imaginations, at least, many of her brave men got a chance to meet with our old friend, Davy Jones.  With this piece, we celebrate their adventures.

The Davy Jones' Jewels collection are some of our prize pieces, as, not only do we seek out the most interesting beads, but often we make them ourselves.  This chance for wearin' of the green is not the usual shamrock ditty, but a theatrically distressed neckpiece suitable as an artifact of the wildest parts of the sea bottom.

All in shades of green, as you see, it features two hard-to-find large Japanese bone skulls and 12 small Tibetan ones.   Also you will find some green vintage small beads and three art-glass spheres featuring lovely millefiore work.  The wood beads are "Mac-mangled" with many coats to provide  an almost organic look.  The round green beads are stove-top pot-dyed.  All are strung on tarred mariner's cord with a monkey's fist knot crowning it all.  The tarred cord has been coated to discourage rub-off.

The side skull drops are about 7" each and with a sliding bead the piece can measure up to 30" around the neck.  We are most proud of this jewel of Davy's Jewels.   An intrepid pirate has snapped this one up, but  there are others in this series for you to pillage for your own
