Blunderbuss Beau
Air: Rosin the Beau     Lyrics adapted by Mallory & McCall

I’ve traveled the wild seas all over
And now to their bottom I’ll go
Where I know that new treasures are waitin’
For to welcome ol’ Blunderbuss Beau

CHORUS: For to welcome ol’ Blunderbuss Beau, Me Lads,
   To welcome ol’ Blunderbuss Beau.
Where I know that new treasures are waitin’
For to welcome ol’ Blunderbuss Beau.

When I’m dead and laid out on the top deck
A voice you will hear from below
Sayin’, “Send down a barrel of rum, lads
And we’ll drink to ol’ Blunderbuss Beau.

CHORUS: We’ll drink to ol’ Blunderbuss Beau-oh-oh,
We’ll drink to ol’ Blunderbuss Beau.
Sayin’, “Send down a barrel of rum, lads
And we’ll drink to ol’ Blunderbuss Beau.”

Now get a half dozen brave pirates
And stack ‘em all up in a row-oh,
Let ‘em drink out of half-gallon tankards
To the memory of Blunderbuss Beau.

CHORUS: To the memory of Blunderbuss Beau-oh-oh,
To the memory of Blunderbuss Beau.
Let ‘em drink out of half-gallon tankards
To the memory of Blunderbuss Beau.

Now take this half-dozen wild rovers
And watch ‘em all stagger and go-oh,
And sew me up tight in me hammock;
The last bed for Blunderbuss Beau.

CHORUS:  The last bed for Blunderbuss Beau-oh-oh,
The last bed for Blunderbuss Beau.
And sew me up tight in me hammock;
The last bed for Blunderbuss Beau.

I feel Davy Jones to me larboard,
   That cruel, remorseless ol’ foe-oe,
And I lift up me cup in his honor,
Take a drink with ol’ Blunderbuss Beau.

CHORUS:  Take a drink with ol’ Blunderbuss Beau, me lad,
Take a drink with ol’ Blunderbuss Beau.
And I lift up me cup in his honor,
Take a drink with ol’ Blunderbuss Beau.

THE SKELETON CREW
air: Bold Thady Quill/ New Words by Mallory & McCall

1. When considering pirates, those swashbuckling devils
You’ll conjure up Kidd or perhaps Captain Jack,
Bartholomew Roberts or Sir Henry Morgan
Or Teach who’d set fire to his beard that was Black.

There’s Calico Jack and his sword-wielding hellions:
You’ll Read about Mary and Anne’s Bonny hue.
Give over those rascals who rove for adventure,
There’s no Pirate Band like the Skeleton Crew!

CHORUS:
FOR– Pumpin’ and pluckin’ and pipin’ and thumpin’
And singin’ the songs that you rapscallions do,
For musical treasure none gives quite the pleasure
As that ol’ Pirate Band called the Skeleton Crew!

2. When you’re out maraudin’ and lootin’ and fightin’
Plus pillage and plunder–that fine derring-do,
Most likely the tune you’ve got stuck in your skull is a
Ditty that’s sung by the Skeleton Crew.

So hark all you raiders who sail the wild waters
And yearn for that melody roarin’ through you:
Just hoist up yer canvas, make way toward the music
Of that ol’ Pirate Band called the Skeleton Crew.                                  CHORUS:

3. Mac’s organ is teasin’, it’s bellowin’, wheezin’
And Cannonball’s boomin’ down low on the bass.
With Patch on the top blowin’ sweet Penny Whistle,
There’s stompin’ and wailin’ all over the place.

Now their bold Pirate King lifts his voice for to sing
Of  blood-thirsty cut-throats and treasure ships, too!
There’s nothin’ so handy, so randy, so dandy
As that ol’ Pirate Band called the Skeleton Crew.                                CHORUS (2Xs)

Sing a-long with "The Skeleton Crew" and "Blunderbuss Beau"!
SOME NEW LYRICS TO SOME OLD SONGS:
You can print out the lyrics and "pirate" them to sing.  They are laid out here to print on two different pages. Just give us credit when recording them!  And send us a copy!

First is a new pirate take on a tune well used throughout the years.  We can certainly see why.  It's catchy and fun to sing--well suited to a piratical rant!  Other titles for this tune are "Rosin the Beau (Bow)"  "Lincoln and Liberty," "Acres of Clams" and many more.

The second toots our own horn!  It's set to the tune of the Irish song known as "Bould Thady Quill" or, slightly altered, "Nell Flaherty's Drake."  We'd be more than pleased if ye be singin' it and tootin' our horn for us!  It's called "(That Ol' Pirate Band Called) The Skeleton Crew."

If you have written any new takes on old, out of copyright songs and would like them to appear on our pages, please get in touch:
