This Mild-Mannered Cover is the
gateway to one of the Most Unusual,
Off-the-wall books (but with a serious side)  you may ever come across!
It's a songbook--well, yes, but it's a book with poetry--and it's funny, irreverent, kooky and just plain crazy.  It's a musical love story. It's forty years of images:  Mallory the Werewolf: Jan as Harpo.  You'll see us live our fantasies, over and over again.   It's original art--and a symphony in DingBats. It's the Vanity Book of all Vanity Books.  We're so vain, we guess we wrote this book about us. And Then we Wrote...

It was intended as a resource for off-the-wall entertainers. And it still is.  It's some original or all-new versions of songs for
Pirates. But also Movie-Mad Gypsies, Werewolves, Nymphomaniacs (and Necrophiliacs).  There is Musically Mesmeric SciFi SeductionSnarky Robots, Renfair Pickups, Red-Hot Mummies, More PIRATES and even Wild Bill speaking from beyond the grave--they are all in there and much more.

There's
Love in the Desert, complete with rats, flies and bleating camels. And there's even a song for the shade of Barry Goldwater.  And most everything (and probably much  more than you ever wanted to know) about how this madness came to be.  It's there.

It's a dissertation on
how much we, the popular musician, owe the Ukulele.  It's lyric poetry by Mallory. It's a giggle, and a chortle and whether or not you sing, it's fun to read.  And sometimes, we've been told, touching.

It's a history about how
our Janus Company Radio Theatre (weekly live radio drama on KPFK, LA for 14 years) got into radio musicals.  It's the mad plots for "Werewolf! The Musical," "Space Opera," and "Two on the Nile, or That Old-Fashioned Mummy of Mine."  It's how Jan accidentally wrote "The Addams Family" as a stage play just before it began shooting.  It's what Mallory found as a Greenwich Village poet after "Crossing Brooklyn Bridge."  And what he wrote.

If that doesn't spark your interest, were not going to tell you
about how Anaheim moved to LA, or what we did to clean up the "Cats on the Rooftops" because the spicy original had nothing to do with felines!

Give it a look.  If it's not all we say, well, we are deluded.  We'll just have to write a sequel!
Mallory & McCall's And Then We Wrote...and Re-Wrote... is available at a limited time on special.  A $19.95 value, you can have it for $15 plus shipping and handling for a total of $17.50.  Or, for an even more limited time, add the CD Rought Draft Sampler and we pay the shipping.  Your total is only $25!  Just click on the Pay Pal Button on the right or mail your check to:

And Then We Wrote...and Re-Wrote... started as a companion book featuring songs from our upcoming CD of the same name.  But it grew. Well over a hundred pages in big format came out of a planned thirty-page booklet. This is a one-of-a-kind experience:   two  veteran performers, sharing their adventures and their creative output.  That much of it happens to be satire or droll or just plain silly is, well, part of who we are.  Give it a try.  There is nothing like us anywhere because there is no one quite like us. Or you, or anyone, at least on this planet.  It's the way of things and  we're good with it!
