HORROR FROM
THE GREAT MASTERS

.
WHIMSEY OR WARNING!   VAN GOGH PAINTED "Skeleton with a Cigerette" BETWEEN 1885-6.  It WOULD MAKE A GRAND LOGO FOR AN ANTI- SMOKING PROMOTION.

No copy comes close to duplicating the magic of the original.  When this wonder came to California it was hung on a tiny side wall surface and could easily have been missed.  But the glow the emanated from it was overpowering.  We bought the poster, but it just wasn't  the same.  To get an idea how difficult it is to reproduce oil, especially, do a search for "Skeleton With a Cigerette" and see how different the reproductions look.  Still it's a grand way to tell your friends that smoking isn't welcome in your space!  And it serves a good start to "Horror from the Great Masters."  Suggestions for other, lesser-known works to display here would be welcome.
