HARPS FOR SALE! SAVE AN IRISH BEAUTY FROM PIRATES! Reluctantly Janna is selling some of her lovely Triplett folk harps that she has performed on through the years. These hand-made beauties sound wonderful and are made of fine woods that, when not being played, add beauty just being there, like a lithesome lass just looking to be noticed. Which is a part of the problem that...ah...we'll get to that in a bit. As we were saying, if you are interested in a harp, a remarkably easy instrument to learn (see our book "Exploring the Folk Harp" published by Mel Bay) e-mail or call us.
Like any good Irish story, the truth here must be told. It's part of that fellow Emperor Caveat that you keep hearing about. Not that we'll be telling you that these harps are not the most beautiful, magical, wonderous things you'd ever be seeing and hearing. All you'd have to do is run your fingers over her (ah... that's "its") strings and you will find yourself helplessly in love. We know. The rightful truth is that Janna is reducing her collection because we must protect some of the lovelies from those single-minded pirates that be hanging around us. They had the audacity to decorate the tip of her 38-string Triplett Premiere with a skull! And, at times (see the photo from the first Gold Coast Pirate Festival that started it all) even win Janna over to their side. Such temptation! We must save at least this beautiful figured maple instrument and send it to a more stable home! Please help! (See her below, playing it at the Santa Barbara Irish Festival in saner times.) And even Janna, when she is being herself, can't play them all at once and so some go unprotected from marauders who would convert these fine makers of music into instruments of pillage and attack (super long-bows, if you get our picture). So, Save the Harps, and get a great bargain compared to buying a new harp. A quality harp a few years old often develops a richer tone and the natural wood mellows to a beautiful, more golden color. Give us a call (323-733-7341) or e-mail us if you are interested in helping.
