FROLICSOME IRISH MUSIC
As "Mallory & McCall" we've been featured together as entertainers (and husband and wife) since 1973. We may be best known (except lately as the Buccaneers take over) as veteran interpreters of traditional Irish music. Mallory sings solo and lead vocals and Janna sings backup and accompanies on a razzy antique pump organ and other keyboards, sometimes adding banjo- and bari-uke, accordion, drum and assorted other instruments (Not all at the same time or at the same event! Not after all these years!). For special concert and indoor occasions, Janna can also feature one of her beautiful hand-made Irish harps (but see the next page with the harp pictures--trouble brews). We specialize in snappy pub songs, music hall turns and lovely ballads that get the audience involved, though our shows include a wide range of Irish music from John McCormack to Clancy lowering the boom. When apporpriate, we also include the poignant songs of the "Troubles."
Naturally, one of our favorite holidays is Saint Patrick's Day. We were even married on St. Pat's Eve. Through the years, we heve celebrated our anniversary (and the Day of the Green) by entertaining crowds at a wide variety of venues including Pub Largo, Alexanders' in the Harbortown Marina Resort, The Charthouse, The British Bulldog Pub, The Ventura Yacht Club, Harbor Village St. Patrick's Day Festival, McCormick & Schmick in Pasadena and Beverly Hills, Maggies's Pub, Ventura Irish Festival, and The Brothers of Saint Patrick, not to mention some very "spirited" private parties. In addition, we have appeared at eight Grand National/Great American Irish Fairs as well as being regulars at the Santa Barbara Irish Festival. Our Irish concert presentation is a favorite at clubs and organizations of all kinds, for young and old.
We are as at home in a concert situation as
we are providing background for
a wild and woolypub party.
